How Cycle4haiti began
In 2007 Netwatch Group CEO, David Walsh, traveled to Haiti with a group from the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of year. Moved by the abject poverty and the spirit of the Haitian people, they felt they had to do something, and in 2009 started the Soul of Haiti Foundation. Their mission was not to give a handout, but to give a hand up.
The group wanted to raise funds to build capability, drive projects and help these wonderful people help themselves. As part of the fundraising efforts, Cycle4haiti began in 2009. It is one of the largest fundraisers each year; a 230 km cycle from Dublin to Galway.
Cycle4Haiti took place on the 25th of May 2019, and was the tenth and final year of this event. Team Netwatch were very lucky to have our own Mick Galwey captaining Team Netwatch; he kept us all motivated along the way! The entire team completed the cycle and the event was another big success, providing much need funds for the people of Haiti.
